We now use Zeffy to manage foundation memberships. It is proving to be very useful in that memberships are automatically managed by Zeffy for us, and all of the dues and donations come to the foundation with no fees.

Zeffy offers an option for members to automatically renew their memberships each year. When selected, Zeffy will notify members that their dues will be automatically charged a month before their membership expires and will have an option to turn off the payment.

Unfortunately, Zeffy’s auto-renewal option is set to yes by default. Members must unselect auto-renewal when they submit their payment if they don’t want to auto-renew. Since it is turned on by default, members that don’t notice the check box end up being set to automatically renew their membership. Zeffy doesn’t provide an option to change this default.
